1.Upholds Medical Center s Standards of Behavior to promote health improvement and provide health services of extraordinary value and quality to our community in a healing and compassionate environment.
2.Ensures compliance with all safety requirements in accordance with hospital risk management and safety policies and procedures.
3.Adheres to policies and procedures of the department as well as those of Medical Center.
4.Ensures patients are prepared for medical caregiver examination/visit and assists provider with procedures and tests as needed.
5.Maintains the continuity of patient care including but not limited to medication refills, lab result follow-ups, referrals to specialists, patient callbacks, and appointment confirmation calls.
4.Orders and maintains center medical supplies, sterilizes instruments, cleans and sets up exam rooms and ensures medical equipment and exam rooms are safe.
5.Assumes other duties as assigned by Medical Provider, Center Administrator or Center Lead.
6.Determines priorities in workload and completes projects in an accurate and timely manner. Performs other duties as assigned.
Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required.
Must have injection skills, phlebotomy skills, EKG experience and medication administration skills.
Basic computer/data entry skills; medical terminology; patient/family health education; instrument sterilization techniques and taking vital signs also required.
Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent training/experience required.
Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
